The Mystery of the Bermuda Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle is a region of the Atlantic Ocean between Florida, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. It’s a place of great mystery and many wild stories—most of which have been disproven. It is true, however, that dozens of vessels have gone missing there over the past century. One famous incident involved five U.S. Navy planes that disappeared in 1945. A rescue plane was quickly sent to search for them. That crew might have been able to tell us what happened—accept/except they disappeared too. Creepy, right?

Alien abductions, death rays from an underwater city, and portals to other dimensions have all been proposed as explanations for the strange happenings in the Bermuda Triangle. Another theory is that underwater earthquakes may release large amounts of methane gas that could cause ships to sink. The earthquake theory may sound a little easier to accept/except, but scientists have largely debunked it. 

Accept/Except for a select number of people, most accept/except that nothing supernatural is going on in the Bermuda Triangle. The most likely explanation is that it’s one of the most heavily traveled areas of ocean. There are bound to be accidents. What’s more, sudden storms, giant waves, and waterspouts have all been recorded there. These natural forces could certainly damage or even destroy planes and ships. But that’s not nearly as exciting as the idea of alien abductions, is it?
